Q: What is a light assembly and what's included?
A: A light assembly is a complete lighting unit that combines multiple functions into one. Headlight assemblies include the lens, reflector, housing, and bulb socket. Tail light assemblies combine brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, and running lights in one unit. Fog light assemblies are designed for bad weather with a wide, low beam pattern. Some assemblies come with bulbs included, others don't — always check the product details and vehicle fitment before purchasing.
2
Q: How do I know if I need a new light assembly?
A: You may need a replacement if you notice dim or uneven lighting, yellowed or foggy lenses, moisture buildup inside the housing, visible cracks, or if your vehicle fails a safety inspection. For tail lights, also check if brake lights or turn signals aren't working properly. Replacing a damaged assembly restores proper lighting and keeps you safe on the road.
3
Q: Does replacing a light assembly require wiring modifications?
A: Hawkglow light assemblies are designed as direct OEM replacements with plug-and-play connectors — no cutting or wiring modifications needed. Most assemblies can be installed in 30–60 minutes with basic tools. Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper sealing and alignment.
4
Q: Are these light assemblies street legal?
A: Yes. In the U.S., all complete light assemblies must meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108. Hawkglow headlight and fog light assemblies are DOT‑certified, ensuring their beam pattern, brightness, and performance meet strict legal safety standards. Our tail light assemblies also comply with all brightness and color regulations.
5
Q: Are these lights waterproof?
A: Yes! Hawkglow LED light assemblies feature sealed housings with IP67 or higher waterproof rating. They perform perfectly in rain, snow, fog, and all weather conditions — no worries about water damage.
6
Q: What are the benefits of LED lights compared to halogen?
A: LED lights offer several clear advantages: much brighter illumination (typically 2–3 times brighter than halogen), better visibility and safer night driving, faster response time (especially for brake lights), longer lifespan (30,000–50,000 hours), lower energy consumption, instant on with no warm-up, and a modern, stylish appearance.
7
Q: Do these lights come with a warranty?
A: Yes! We offer a 2-year free warranty. If you experience any quality issues under normal use, we'll replace them at no cost or issue a refund. Just keep your proof of purchase, and feel free to contact our customer service team anytime.

Q: What's the difference between tail lights and brake lights?
A: Tail lights (also called running lights) turn on with your headlights to make your vehicle visible from behind at night or in low visibility. Brake lights activate when you press the brake pedal — they're much brighter than tail lights and signal to drivers behind you that you're slowing down or stopping. A complete tail light assembly includes both functions.

Q: What's the difference between fog lights and headlights?
A: Fog lights are designed specifically for rain, fog, and snow. They produce a wide, flat beam that's mounted low to illuminate the road surface and reduce glare reflecting off fog or precipitation. Headlights are designed to project light farther down the road for general night driving. For best results in bad weather, use both — fog lights for the road ahead, headlights for distance visibility.
10
Q: Will aftermarket lights affect my vehicle warranty?
A: In most cases, replacing lights with aftermarket assemblies won't void your vehicle warranty. However, if an installation issue or the light itself causes damage to other parts, those repairs might not be covered. To be safe, choose high-quality plug-and-play products like Hawkglow and keep your installation records. You can also check with your vehicle manufacturer if you have concerns.
